Game Tracker

Many coaches believe the more games played, the better the athelte will become.  The win/loss numbers come from the St. Louis Prenational Tournament, Mizzou volleyball camp, and the HP Championships.

Current summer results:

Wins--58 games

Losses--28 games

Summary of our summer thus far:::

May 14th--Great first practice National team at the University of Little Rock, AR.  There are so many talented athletes on the team and I am looking forward to our summer events!!

June 7th--A big thanks to the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR for allowing us to use the Prince Center.  It was great to see the girls again and begin looking at our game plan.

June 16th-18th--What a great camp!!  Good job ladies and thank you for working hard at camp.  I think we established the cornerstone of our offense and defense for the summer; now we can use team camp at Mizzou to improve our chemistry on the court.  It's been fun having all of you in town for a couple of days.

June 21st--The prenational invitation only tourney hosted by the U of Missouri Saint Louis was a great event for our team.  This rare and special opportunity  allowed seven of our girls to compete against open level competition including the best St. Louis and Kansas City has to offer.  We enjoyed our very first victory as a team and lost by only a few points to three extraordinary teams who have a great chance at winning JO National's this year in the 15's and 17's open age divisions.

July 10th to 12th--The University of Missouri (Mizzou) team camp was a wonderful success!!  All 12 of the girls attended camp and worked very hard.  As a result of their hardwork and growing team chemistry we won the Mizzou volleyball team camp.  The girls really looked sharp the last day of the camp and appear ready for the High Performance Championships.

July 22nd-27th Tucson, AZ HP National Championships

The HP Championships was incredible!!! Our Delta Blues team can out on fire and won our pool finishing as one of the top four teams overall after the first two days of competition.  We advanced to meet some of the best young ladies in the country and dropped four matches in a row.  Our team rallied in the final match of the tournament to win 7th place overall and finish in the silver bracket.

Good Job this summer Delta Blues !!!!

Alternate Team Summer Recap::

I want to thank the fantastic group of girls who attended development camp at CBU June 18th to 20th.  The purpose of the camp was to introduce the girls to advanced game play and skills they can use to take their game to another level.  I'm looking forward to watching many of the girls succeed during club and high school volleyball in 2008-2009.

Camp recap:

June 18th-- Tooling the block, directional hitting using the wrist, successful roll shots, and serve receive communication.

June 19th-- Setter attack, slide approach for middles and opposites, team defense (hitter coverage), advanced freeball strategy, four step approach for outside hitters, and serving with a strategy.

June 20th-- Quick review of June 18th skills and round robin tournament.
